Headteacher’s Welcome and Aims

As salamu alaikum,

Welcome to  Oak Tree Primary School – a pioneering and progressive Islamic faith based independent school. Our school is an exciting and stimulating place to be, offering a holistic education and high standards in academic achievement.   

Through our tailored curriculum we aim to achieve the following: 

• God-conscious – Instil in our children awareness of Allah in all that they do; and understand that they are uniquely created by Allah and are loved and valued for who they are. 

• Knowledge - Develop knowledge and skills through an exciting, creative, integrated curriculum which fosters a lasting enjoyment of learning. 

• Islamic Values - Provide a distinctively Islamic environment within which children feel safe and happy and where faith, justice, respect, honesty, integrity, trust, compassion and love are valued and actively promoted within everyday learning. 

• Positive Relationships – Ingrain care, cooperation and respect for people and the environment, in particular developing a sensitivity to other peoples’ needs and points of view. 

• Confidence - Allow children to develop self-esteem by creating the conditions where children are emboldened to step out of their comfort zones always in a safe environment; where mistakes are opportunities for growth and resilience; and where success is aligned with perseverance and attitude rather than with outcome. 

• ‘Can do’ attitude - Recognise, support and celebrate the achievements of our children equally whether they are creative, technologically skilled or academic as we recognise society has roles for all. 

The outcome of the above aims, and what shapes our lesson plans and activities, is the endeavour to nurture and instil Islamic values into our children in the most natural way, showing them the true beauty of Islam, assisting in developing their inner beauty and character, alongside preparing our children for tomorrow’s challenges with exceptional academics.
